Zappos.com client database hacked

The largest U.S. online seller of branded shoe company Zappos.com on Sunday night, informed its customers that unknown hackers to gain access to client database, which contained data on 24 million customers Zappos.com. Shortly after the online seller said about breaking the client base, his web site no longer serve the entire international traffic, working in a restricted mode for U.S. visitors. Zappos.com Via says that in the hands of hackers have been personal, not financial data customers as information on bank cards and other payment information stored separately. According to reports, the hackers gained access to names, email addresses, phone numbers, last four numbers of credit cards and passwords in encrypted form.
Zappos.com says that IT administrators have already taken several measures to protect customers. In particular, all the company’s customers have already received notification of the incident, as well as data on the need to change your password on the emergency service. In the company’s announcement said that the headquarters of Zappos.com in Nevada allocated additional staff, who will work with customers and helping the latter to protect their information. Director-General of Zappos.com, Tony Chi, said that the company is “very sensitive” by the news of burglary, as the last 12 years has worked to build his reputation as a reliable and high-quality seller.
