Systems infected with the virus DNSChanger Trojan, can be disconnected from the Internet on March 8.
For a large number of Internet users March 8 may be a day when they will be disconnected from the global Internet. Recall that last year, police arrested six people in Estonia, the suspects in the creation of malicious software called DNSChanger Trojan. virus has spread to millions of users in 100 different countries around the world.
The main goal of the Trojan program is that by substituting a legitimate DNS server on the Internet users are redirected to a web-page scam. The virus also blocks the installation of updates on a system that could make it vulnerable to other threats.
After the seizure of control over a network of fake DNS servers guide the U.S. FBI has decided to temporarily stop their work, as this would lead to disabling features of the Internet a large number of users. According to the court injunction, until March 8, 2012 instead of the DNS servers attackers will operate servers that redirect users to the legitimate resources.
Trojan DNS Changer exploit vulnerabilities in the browsers of users, so it could compromise not only the Windows system. Anyone can verify whether its system is affected by the virus with the instructions posted on the site of the FBI.
