The analysis was performed using the service ScanEye, showing downloading any materials produced from a particular IP-address. TorrentFreak discovered that addresses the involvement of major filmmakers in exchange of pirated content.
Among the companies whose employees were convicted of piracy were Paramount Pictures, Warner Bros., Sony Pictures, Walt Disney and 20th Century Fox. Last studio, says TorrentFreak, was the most “pure”. With its address downloading just all three files: the film “Jeff, who lives at home” episode of “90210” and the play “Hollywood Squares”.
All of the studios are in the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), which is actively fighting piracy of movies on the Internet.
TorrentFreak also notes that it was able to “catch” the company Bittorrent Inc., Developer of file sharing client uTorrent and BitTorrent, on the distribution of three files. However, all three of these files have been published online by their respective owners.
