Facebook flooded with pictures depicting violence and porn images, spread over the network during the past 24 hours.
The images processed in Photoshop, are celebrities (Akiha, such as Justin Bieber) in respect of hard sexual intercourse, as the network is questionable photographs, which depict the humiliation of dogs.
The photos seem to apply with a click-dzheking virus, which encourages users to navigate through the supposedly secure links, and then distributes these entertainment options for the entire list of user’s friends.
In a statement, Facebook said that they are aware of the problem and are investigating. The company said: “Protecting Facebook users from spam and malicious material is our top priority and we are constantly working to improve our system to isolate and remove materials that may damage the integrity of the system.”
“We have recently reported an increase in the amount of spam, we investigate and solve this problem.”
Graham Cluley of Sophos’s said that Facebook, ultimately, may lose some of their users, if not begin to act quickly to prevent the next outbreak.
“This is exactly the problem, which may discourage users from the site,” – he wrote in a blog. ”Facebook should quickly take the problem under control and continue to prevent outbreaks of the virus in the same scale.”
“Of course, this incident raises another important question. Many firms may conveniently allow users to visit sites such as Facebook, but what it may, if hard pornography and offensive content distributed this way? Perhaps companies should block access to sites to distribute materials offensive content. “
