flattr this!

Have you ever wondered what is in your Windows Task Manager Processes.

It would be great if you could just understand all the processes, it would be so easy to manipulate the speed & space of your system.

Well that is what I am going to do today. Will be helping you all understand the Windows Task Manager Processes tab in a lame man’s language

  • ISUSPM.exe is a process that belongs to InstallShield from Macrovision. The process automatically checks for the latest updates online. By removing this process you will not get informed about the latest updates for InstallShield.
  • GoogleCrashHandler.exe is a helper file for the Google Update software, if you have Google Update installed on your system, you will see an instance of GoogleCrashHandler running when you visit the processes tab in Task manager.
  • ctfmon.exe When you run a Microsoft Office XP program, the file Ctfmon.exe (Ctfmon) runs in the background, even after you quit all Office programs.
  • jusched.exe This process is the Java Update scheduler, which is a process that wastes memory all the time just to check once a month whether there are new updates to Java. This process can be removed.
  • RTHDCPL.exe is a process belonging to the Realtek HD Audio Control Panel and is bundled alongside Realtek sound cards and audio hardware.
  • nvsvc32.exeis part of the NVIDIA graphics card drivers. It should be on any system using Nvidia graphics hardware for proper functioning of the graphic card.
  • svchost.exeis an integral part of Windows operating systems. It cannot be stopped or restarted manually. This process manages system services that run from dynamic link libraries (dll files).
  • msmdsrv.exe is a service of Microsoft SQL server. Should not be stopped if causing problems.
  • smss.exe This is the session manager subsystem, which is responsible for starting the user session. located in System32 folder of the Windows folder.
  • jqs.exe is a Java Quicker Started to enable to start java applets faster. This is usually set to low priority.
  • System Idle Process is the idle time of the waiting for an app/file or something to open or process. So waiting for that process to start is also a process itself.
  • ReportingServicesService.exe is a Microsoft SQL Server Component
  • csrss.exe is a process for console windows, creating and/or deleting threads, and implementing some portions of the 16-bit virtual MS-DOS environment. Its the kernel mode portion. Stands for Client/Server Run-time subsystems.

Well these are the basic ones. if you have more & want to know/share then please comment & let us know.
